Evening Peeps. Another glorious day although a little more comfortable with the gentle breeze.
Here's another shawlette I've made, this time knitted in a fab 'eyelash' type wool. Beads just didn't work for this one as they were overshadowed by the yarn, so instead I made a tassle out of a similar wool that has a silver thread running through it.
The only problem now is I'll have to wait until the weather cools down before I can wear it.
Hope you like it and see you again soon, x
About Me
- cockney blonde
- My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Cards to Share
Hello from a very warm and sunny West Yorkshire. It was quite dull this morning but its just got warmer and warmer as the day's progressed.
This first card I made for a crafting friend who had a birthday yesterday. I fell in love with this stamp where I saw it and was able to co-ordinate it with some Craft Individuals DP and flowers.
The next 3 piccies show different aspects of a recent bookmark card which I made with instructions from the very talented Diane Whitehouse. It was for a teenage girl who loved it.
Close-up of the bookmark.

Hope you like my brief return into card-making which may be on hold again for a while due to home circumstances.
Enjoy the sun if you have it. Hopefully it will last, x

Knitting and Crochet Update
Well I don't know. You don't hear from me for weeks and then you get 3 postings in an evening. Thought I would catch up with blogging while I was on a roll.
Here are a couple of piccies of a really pretty summer cardi I made for my grand-daughter. I was so chuffed with it.
Then what happens......it barely fits her. Back to the drawing board. #2 on the needles now.
If anybody has read the plight of the little 'fish n chip' babies you will know about the little outfits knitters all over the country are making for them. Here is my first contribution. Plenty more wool lined up for future outfits.
Here is my first completed crocheted article. A 'shawlette', pattern courtesy of JoZart. I wore it today and apart from certain embellishments falling into delicate parts of my anatomy the overall feedback was postive.
A close up of the offending embellishments which are in fact buttons.
Making use of some beautiful beads I got as a birthday pressie.
And, finally here is my finished blanket which was my first practice piece of crocheting. I say finished, it may well grow some more rounds at a later stage.
Well that's me done for now. Hope you've enjoyed my piccies and see you soon, x
Can you RESIST a peek...
Yep! You guessed it, I've been having a bit of a resist moment of late and these are some of my latest creations. Still finding it difficult to get my mojo working but at least I've made some cards.
Hope you like them, x
Birthday Eye Candy
It's now almost 2 weeks since my birthday and I have at long last taken down my fabulous display of cards. I have met some wonderful people since I starting crafting initially through Katy's Corner UK and many have become very good friends probably for life. As you can see I received a beautiful array of artwork and all so different.
Enjoy!
I'll be back shortly with a crochet update, x
