About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Thank You Fairy Much...

Hello Peeps, are you all keeping warm with this sudden drop in temperature, brrrrr...

I've made this card to send as a thank you to a lovely lady. I won't say anymore incase she's blog hopping and spots it.

Anyhow, the stamp is by Lavinia which I have coloured with copics and then added some clear gems to her hairpiece.
Copics used:
E21, 93, BG93, 96, YR20, 23, R02, 05, 08, RV21, 23, 25, W1, 3, 5, Blender and Promarker Satin.

The DP is Prima - Fairy Flora, from Crafty Emma's Store, as are the wee carnation buds (white). Everything else is from my stash.

One Stop #115

Another quick posting from me. Hope you're all having a restful evening. It's blooming freezing here and it took me ages to get round my work partly due to following the gritting lorries, so it must be cold...

Anyhow, I made this card for a workshop sample but didn't upload before as I had sent it to someone as a 'just because' card. Its another one of the tent fold cards that I have been playing around with recently.

I've coloured Tilda with copics but unfortunately didn't keep a note of the colours...duh!
The DP are by K & Co called Amy Butler Belle.

The current One Stop Craft Challenge is to use more than one fold, so I hope this counts. Anyhow, hope you like it and here's the challenge link, x

I Love You...

Afternoon Peeps. This will have to be a really quick posting as I should be out of here by now and on my way to work...oops!

This gorgeously cute image is by the folks at Digi Doodles which I have coloured with copics:
E21, 93, 31, 33, 35, Y21, 26, 28, R20, 22, 24, 27, YG63, G21, Promarker Satin

The DP is some new papers which I got from Crafty Emma's Store by Memory Box called Rhubarb Tart...mmm, I love rhubarb tart, lol.

The huge heart button I found in my stash, can't remember when or where I got it but love it. I shall probably give the card to hubby so that I can recycle the heart, lol.

Just Magnolia #90; Charisma Cardz; Digi Doodle #43; Winter Wonderland

Hiya All, just realised I didn't blog yesterday although I did make this pretty little card yesterday evening. I've used the current Just Magnolia sketch with DP from Blonde Moments. Not sure what Dyan would make of a Tilda with Blonde Moments papers, lol. Anyway, I think the two suit each other quite well.

I've coloured Tilda with copics E08, 21, 31, 33, 35, 93, V12, 15, 17, RV34, BG10, 15, and Promarker in Satin. I've also added some sparkle to her hat.

The challenge over at Charisma Cardz is 'Magic Numbers' and I thought why not the 25th of December. Digi Doodles #43 Challenge is 'Anything Goes', and Winter Wonderland are asking for Pink and Purple.

I hope you like it and the links are below, x

Sugar Bowl #51; Spoon Full of Sugar #135; Papertake Weekly; Digi Doodle #43; Copic Creations #42

Happy Sunday to you all. You don't normally see me up and about at this time, especially on a Sunday, but its positively midday to me, lol, as I've been up since 7am!!! What's that all about then? Why can't I get up on a workday???

Anyhow, I made this card yesterday evening and thought I'd get it uploaded before I go off for a day's crafting with friends.

This is a new digital image from the Sugar Nellie people called Joy Sitting. I've got the full image (you can just get the head and shoulders) but for this card I've just used the top part and enclosed her in a scalloped nestie. The base DP is from my stash but the others are from Papermania - Henbury Lane. Scrummy papers, only just broken into, lol. I've coloured Joy with copics:-
E21, 31, 33, 35, 93, BG10, 15, B93, 95 and Promarker Satin

The ribbon is from my stash as is the top right bellie. The pearls are from The Hobby House.

I hope you like it and I'm entering it into the following challenges :-

I'm Getting Married In The Morning...

Well, I'm not, lol, but these 2 little cuties from the Digi Doodle Shop are. Aren't they just the cutest and lovely to colour with the old faithful copics. I've used:
E21, 31, 33, 35, 93, C1, 3, 5, RV21, 23, B32, G21 and Promarker in Satin

The pinky colour DP is from a Papermania pack - Exquisite - and the cream paper is from my stash. The absolutely scrummy flowers (curly Gardenia) I've just received from Crafty Emma's Store. At such a reasonable price I'll defo be getting some more.

I've used the current Pixie Cottage sketch as my template, Cupcake Crafts theme of 'Wedding', and Colour Create's colours of pink, blue, grey and cream + optional flowers to create this card. I'm also entering it into the Digi Doodle's Best current challenge which is anything goes.

I hope you like it and the links are below. Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps, x

The Love Bug

Hello Bloggers, hope you are all well. Thought I'd cheer you all up this evening with this bright and cheery card, just in keeping with the current Oldie But A Goodie challenge. I can't remember how long I've had this VW Beetle stamp by Funstamps but its always a good stand-by for those difficult to make 'Men' cards. I've coloured it with copics in:
C1, 3, 5, 7
YR02, 04, 07
Easy Peasy this one...

The DP are from a new stack I bought from Crafty Emma's Store called Glitterati by Memory Box. Really vibrant colours.

The metal bellie is from my stash. I've added this to be able to join in the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge which is 'Heavy Metal' although I think the VW should have plenty of that in its bodywork, lol

I hope you like it and the links are below, x

Moments Like This...

Told you I'd be back...just made it before bedtime, lol

I've spent this evening playing about with this fold, can't remember where I've seen it recently but wanted to give it a try. Basically I used a sheet of brown A4 cardstock and trimmed it widthways to 5 3/4". I then scored at 1" and 2" creating a mountain and valley fold respectively. The remainder of the card I then folded in half (another mountain fold).

Using my MS punch to create the ironwork border it looks like Tilda is sat in front of it, having perched her on the first mountain fold. (hope this is making sense to you, lol). All the DP are from my stash. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The brad and dragonfly eyelet are also from my stash.

I've coloured Tilda with copics as follows :-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker Satin
hair - E31, 33, 35
suit - B93, 95, 97
socks - YR12, 15
shoes - E33, 35
beads - BG09

Hopefully this second picture will enable you to understand my instructions. Hope you like it, x

I'm entering it into the following challenges:-

Just Magnolia #89 - My favourite things (copics, flowers and pearls/gems)
Allsorts #89 - Teal Blue and Brown
Pile It On #3 - Anything Goes
Simon Says - Bingo (I've used die-cuts, flowers, and gems)

Digi's with Attitude! #13; Sketch Saturday #138

Hello everyone, another sunny day here in West Yorkshire, although woke up to a very heavy frost.

This image is from the Digi's with Attitude! team and is called Shopping Tween. Unfortunately I must have printed her onto the wrong card cos my copics just didn't want to play ball, and of course at the same time the printer decides to throw its toys out of the proverbial pram so I couldn't reprint it. Hence I resorted to my water pencils. In the cold light of day the colouring looks as though it could have been better but hey! ho! that's life.

The current Digi's with Attitude! challenge is Green and Black - very Goth... and I've also used the current Sketch Saturday sketch as my template. The DP, ribbon, flowers and brads are all from my stash.

I hope you like it and the challenge links are below. I'll be back later with another card for you, x

Winter Wonderland; Friday Sketchers; Crafty Cardmakers

Good Evening, hope you are all well in blogland. First I'm gonna have a moan cos I need to get this off my chest. Last September I had a bump in my car. Not my fault, the other driver jumped a red light on me. Anyhow, he accepted liability as did his insurers and all was settled. Today I've chased up my Insurers to find out why my monthly payments haven't gone down now that they've retrieved all their losses, to be told that the Underwriters load your premium even when the accident is not your fault. How can that be right??? Blooming bureaucracy gone mad!!!
Off to find another Insurance Company...

Right! Rant over, onto tonight's quickie card.

I wanted to get this one in quick for the current Winter Wonderland challenge which is Paws for Thought. I'm determined to get as many Christmas cards as possible made before the end of the year.....

I used the current Friday Sketchers sketch as my template and also found that it fitted into the current Crafty Cardmakers challenge which is red and a die cut.

The limited copics I used were R02, 05 and I added some stickles to teddy's hat. Teddy, by the way, was a magazine freebie ages ago, designed by Adam Pescott. The DP is by Papermania 'Henbury Lane' and I've added some adhesive stars for bling.

I hope you like it and the challenge links are below, x

Creative Card Crew; Digi Doodle #42; Totally Papercrafts; Daring Cardmakers

Good Evening everyone. I'm only just going to make it for one of the challenges I want to enter this into so I'm typing at top speed, lol

I've actually made this card for my Mum who will be 88 next week. Tilda maybe a bit cutesy for her but she'll love the idea of the 'prom' type image and of course the flowers. I've coloured Tilda with copics:-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker in Satin
hair - E31, 33, 35
clothes - YG00, 03, 06, 09
tiara - RV02, 04
I've also added some adhesive gems to bling up her tiara
I've made the card as a gatefold and shaped the edges by drawing and cutting round a nestie shape. I've also created a buckle and tab effect for the closure using a piece of card and a chipboard shape. This I have coloured with dabbers in willow and raspberry.
For the second time in a matter of days I have been disecting the beautiful Papermania Rose Garden DP and have used 3 different sheets from this.

The ribbon on the front is actually two. An organza overlaid with the pretty narrower spotty ribbon. Using 1 image, 3 papers and 2 ribbons is the criteria for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge.

Finally the 'trellising' inside has been created with a Martha Stewart punch.

I hope you like it and the links are below, x

Grace in a Daydream

Good Morning, I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Its freezing here in West Yorkshire and blowing a gale so I can't think of any better excuse than to stay in the warm and craft.

This cute little image is one of the new digital images from Sugar Nellie, isn't she just cute and so easy to colour with copics too. I've used:-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker Satin
hair - E31, 33, 35
everything else - BG10, 15, G02, 03, RV000, 02, 04, 06

I think she's dressed in anticipation of warmer weather and is dreaming about playing out in the sun.

I also remembered that I had a fab 12 x 12 DP pack from Papermania called Rose Garden which my good friend Diane bought me last year for my birthday. I keep forgetting to use it or rather I stroke the pages and then give a little sigh and think maybe next time, lol. The papers are just perfect for these cutesy images.

The sparkly string of beads are from my stash, as is the ribbon, and I've fixed them with glossy accents.

{Neet, if you're reading this from across the pond then I hope you're having a good time and thanks for your comments and encouragement.}

Anyhow, I hope you like this and I'm entering it into the following challenges:-

Warm Greetings on a Cold Day

Hello Bloggers. I've been busy the past couple of days but here's a quicky I threw together this afternoon.

Another cute little Tilda shivering in the cold. Hopefully the little greeting will warm her up. I've coloured her with copics a follows:-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker Satin
hair - E31, 35
boots - E33, 35
wings - G00, BG10
coat - BG10, 15, G00
fur - G000 plus stickles to add some sparkle
skirt - C1, 3, 5

The sentiment is by Hero Arts. The DP are from my stash. The flowers have been created by a Woodware punch and then fixed with grey sparkly brads.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:-

Friday Sketchers #136; Just Magnolia, Special Monthly Challenge; Copic Creations #41; Cupcake Challenge #124

I've been a busy little bee this evening, mainly cos the footie was on the tv...

Anyway, it gave me the opportunity to break into my new DP by Papermania ' Henbury Lane'. OMG the papers are really scrummy and sparkly and the colours are divine. Here I've used 3 of the sheets from the purple selection, it was a difficult choice, but I wanted it to blend with the cute little heart buttons which in turn complemented Tilda's balloon. I've coloured Tilda with copics as follows :-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker Satin (in place of my poorly E00)
hair - E31, 33, 35
jumper, shoes and ribbon - RV02, 04, 34
wings - RV000
balloon - BV00, RV02, 04
outline - W1

The main background paper has already got sparkle and shine to it but I also added some stickles to her fairy wings.

As for the ribbon...well what can I say....lush or what. I've had it for ages and can't remember where I got it but it just seemed to fit this project.

I hope you like it and the challenge details are below, x

Anyhow, I'm entering this into the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is Lets Go Dotty, and also the ABC Christmas Challenge which is 'A' for Anything Christmas. I've also followed the sketch from the current Sketch and Stash Challenge - the stash being the snowflakes and ribbon.

I'm sorry but I didn't keep a note of the copics used to colour in our little pals but I can tell you that the DP is from Kars X-Mas Collection.

Charisma Cardz #1; Cute Card Thursday #146; Lets Ink It Up #8; Allsorts #85

Hello Everyone. Can't remember if I blogged yesterday or not DUH!!! So I hope you all had a good weekend. This is a new fold for me 'Tent Fold' card which I was inspired to do from the Whiff of Joy Inspirational blog. I hope you like it.

I coloured Tilda with copics: E21, 93, E31, 33, 35, R02, 05, 08, YR20, 23 and Promarker in Satin. This is because I realised at yesterday's workshop that my E00 was contaminated and the only replacement available to me was the Promarker. However, I must say I wasn't disappointed.

The DP are from my stash (donkeys years old) as are the flowers and brads.
I'm entering it in the following challenges:-

Charisma #1 - Birthday
Cute Card Thursday # 146 - Out with the Old (that'll be the DP and brads)
Lets Ink It Up #8 - Anything Goes
Allsorts #85 - Fancy Fold

CRAFT #84

Good Morning. We've had another dusting of snow here in West Yorkshire overnight but the sun is shining this morning. However you can't feel its warmth cos its blowy an icy wind outside.

Anyway, back to business. I made this card yesterday to send to our little Scottish Grand-daughter thanking her for her Christmas pressies. She's only 2 but she loves owls. I wasn't sure about the paper combo but once the card was assembled I realised I really liked the blend. They're from Docraft 'Funky Vintage' and I won them last year in a Crafty Cardmakers Challenge.

The stamp is by mft and the copics are: R00, B93, 95, C5, E31, 33, 35, YG00, 03

The finished effect is probably a little bit grown up for Rose but I know her Mummy will appreciate it.

I'm entering this in the CRAFT sketch challenge. Hope you like it, x

ABC Challenge; Papertake Weekly; Creative Card Crew

Good Evening Bloggers. I hope you've all had a good Saturday. The rain has washed most of yesterday's snow away but OMG it was absolutely freezing when we took the dogs out this afternoon. However, they enjoyed themselves although my lovely lab, Etta, ran too much and has been limping this evening. Hopefully she'll be OK in the morning.

Anyway, enough about the doggies, I've made this card to send to a cousin of mine in Australia. I heard, in a Christmas card, that he is a proud Daddy so this is a belated congrats/new baby card.

The stamp is by Whiff of Joy and I've coloured it with copics as follows:-

Y11, 13, RV23, R00, 20, C1, G21, YG63, 91, 95, W1

I thought it looked like a proud Mummy/Daddy duck with a new chick.

The DP is Prima 'Fairy Flora' and I've decorated the tag by punching out a daisy and using the negative to sponge through with Versacolor 'Old Rose'. Finally the embellishment is by Paper Heart.

I hope you like it and I'm entering it in the following challenges, x

Sketch Saturday #136; Corrosive Challenge #97; Pile It On #1

Evening Everyone. I don't know about anyone else but we've been snowed in again today, so I took advantage and got crafting. Gotta strike while the iron's hot, or at least while the Mojo is around, lol.

I actually made 3 cards today but this is the one I'm uploading and I've done this using the current sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog. I'm also entering it into the Corrosive Challenge which is asking for purple and yellow; and finally Pile It On which is asking for Brand Spankin' New. That happens to be my new nesties from Crafty Emma's Store.

The CS and DP are all 'seconds' from the Kanban shop, and I've slightly distressed the edges with Distress Ink in Milled Lavender. The cat is by PSX and the pawprints were on a plate which was given to me by the lovely Dotpat in Hartlepool. BTW I've used versafine vintage sepia to stamp the images.

I hope you like it and the challenge links are below, x

Just Magnolia #87; Paper Sundaes #50; Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Evening Bloggers. I'm a bit late with this one but I'm still getting back into the crafting mode.
Anyway, I'm entering this into the latest Just Magnolia Challenge which is Anything Goes and using the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge as my template. This is a new challenge for me. I also found that Paper Sundaes were asking us to use something new and I have just received a new set of Nesties (scalloped circles) from Crafty Emmas Store, so it gave me a good opportunity to try them out.

I've coloured Tilda with copics as follows:-
E00, 21, 93
Y21, 26, 28
RV21, 23, 25
BG10, 15

Crafts & Me #20 - Anything Goes

Hey! Ho! I may be back in blogland but now my computer is paying silly beggars and not allowing me to resize and crop my piccies, although this is intermittently. So, apologies but this is the best you're gonna get.

I've sent this to a fellow blogger who has a birthday today so I couldn't upload it before, but I thought it was a cutie to enter for the current Crafts & Me Challenge which is Anything Goes.

I've coloured the Elisabeth Bell image with copics, although I didn't keep a note of the numbers, sorry. The DP are by Basic Grey - Porcelain.
I hope you like it and the challenge link is below, x

Papertake Weekly; Friday Sketchers #135

Now don't get too excited. I know I've been away for ages and therefore perhaps its a bit of a shock to see 2 uploads in one day but I was in the mood for crafting, the mojo appeared (from where, goodness knows), and we're going to visit family tomorrow. I also wanted to get this made to pop in the post to a friend to thank them for a lovely Christmas pressie.

I've used the current Friday Sketchers sketch as my format inspiration and have incorporate the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is 'Be Thankful'.

The stamp is another new one of mine by Belles n Whistles called Li'l Miss Poppy which I have coloured with the following copics:-
R00, 02, 05, 08
G21
Y21
W1, 3, 5 and blender
E00, 21, 31, 33, 35, 37, 93

The DP are Basic Grey - Porcelain

I hope you like it and the challenge links are below, x

Happy New Year and Lili of the Valley #78 - New Beginnings

Happy New Year Everyone.

This cute little image is from Lili of the Valley and I had bought it for my Christmas cards but unfortunately with all my family traumas forgot all about it so I thought why not use it for a New Year card.

I've journalled in the top corner in an attempt to explain my choice of stamp, lol

I'm entering this into the current Lili of the Valley challenge which is New Beginnings. Appropriate in more ways than one for me.

I've used copics to colour as follows :-
C1, 3, 5, 7, 8
R20, 22, 24, 27, 29
W1, 3, 5 and blender
E21, 33 37

The background paper is from some leftover Basic Grey.

I hope you like it and the challenge link is below, x
