About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Less Is More

Oh Boy! Was this hard. I've spent so many weeks making embellished filled cards that to go back to basics for this challenge was as it says 'A Challenge'. Still, a change is as good as a rest, lol

So for the easy peasy write up to this card. I took an A6 folded cream card and stamped Hero Arts 'Aged Background' in Distress Antique Linen. I then overstamped the Crafty Individuals trees and phrase in versafine vintage sepia.

With the baby wipe I clean the background stamp I smudged round the edges of the card and then taking a cotton bud which I rolled in the versafine pad I swiped around the edges.

Couldn't decide if I needed to do any more to it so I just left it alone.

Hope you like it and the challenge link is here, x

  1. Leaving alone is often the best, but most difficult thing to do! I love the soft feel of this card, the colours are so gentle... very pleasing.
Thanks for joining our challenge and I hope you'll be back for the next one at the weekend!

  2. Leaving is good!
I don't know if I'd agree that CAS is a back to basic technique as there is a tendancy to cram everything on a card surface when you first start!
Instead it can take more time to achieve the desired effect, you certainly have!
    Thank you!!
Hope to see you every week
