About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Catching Up

Just realised I've been MIA from Blogland for over a week. Where did that week go???

Anyway, I haven't really much to share with you at the moment as I've been busy knitting for my Folksy Shop and for private orders, plus doing the Christmas pressie run to Scotland for the grandees, and of course battling with the weather. However, I wanted to share this beautiful card I received from the lovely Jayne as part of a pink card swap in honour of breast cancer awareness. I love how she's made the flower.

Below, is a pair of hand warmers, or fingerless mitts, which I have been making following a request and they now seem to be selling like hotcakes.

And here are some ear warmers in beautiful autumnal colours. They didn't stay on the shelf long either, lol
So, I'm now packing ready for our trip to Barcelona on Friday to celebrate hubby's 60th birthday. I will try to pop back next week when we return but our days will be short as next Friday we fly to Cyprus for Christmas. So just in case I go AWOL again let me wish everyone who celebrates a wonderful Christmas and here's hoping 2012 is a happy and healthy one for everybody.

Merry Christmas, x

  1. Love your knitting, and what fab ear warmers. Have a great time in Barcelona - what a fab trip! And Cyprus!!! Do you need anyone to carry your bags cos I will definitely volunteer. Have a Very Happy Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. xx

  2. You've been a busy bee Alison and all lovely stuff, especially the ear-warmers. The Mug cosy you made for me has come up trumps these past few days (Andy makes me a cuppa before he leaves for work and I didn't wake up this morning until 7:45 (late for me) and it was still warm).
Have a lovely break in Barcelona and, if I don't 'speak' to you before have a brilliant Christmas.

  3. Hi Alison

What a wonderful card - I love it - nice mits!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

  4. Have a lovely holiday and a very happy Christmas CB
    Claire xx

  5. CB, those are darling ear warmers! Love the mitts and the card you were sent is wonderful.

I hope your holidays were wonderful.
    Hugs, Pat
