About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

I've got the lead role in a new action film...sort of

OK, before I tell you the exciting news here is a piccie of my latest project. A lady's lingerie case. The older ladies amongst us will remember Mum or Granny having one of these to stash their undies in when they went travelling. Anyway, I made one for a friend for Christmas and then got this fab material to make some more.

It has 2 internal pockets, so plenty of room and the ribbons provide the fastening.
And here are some slippers for little girls knitted with a double strand of DK wool. Cute or what. You should see the little ones I've made for newborns. And then there's the ones I've made for us bigger people.

An update for another day is my new found skill of crocheting thanks to the excellent teaching of Jo from JoZarty blog. Although it now means I've found the Black Sheep Wool place.....

So the exciting news.....the new action film.....

Well, I jest....but it got you reading. I've decided given what's going on in my life at the moment that I will write an action film with Angelina Jolie playing the lead (that's me) as she does her own stunts just like me!!!

However, I don't think she makes such a pigs ear of them as me. Pray tell, I hear you ask. Well yesterday, there I was minding my own business, crossing the road when down I go rather spectacularly and after travelling a few feet, well maybe a few inches, along the road I landed on my face. So glasses broken, face bashed, knees cut and bleeding, hands cut and bleeding and shoulder now a nice shade of black I think I have earned the lead role.

On top of that today I have been for a blood test and 2 holiday vaccinations so I now have 2 very sore arms.

Off to cast the rest of the film. Have a good weekend, x

  1. Can I have a part please. I could be the glamorous femme fatale who sits by the piano smoking a Balkan Sobrainie cigarette in a very, very long holder - you know, the woman with a past. Well I can dream. Sorry about the fall Alison and hope you are not too sore.
