About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

UFO's, UU's and WIP's

UFO's - No not flying saucers but Un-Finished Objects, and I had a few of those lying around.
This was a little hat I just wanted to crochet to practise my crochet skills. Then I found out my BFF is expecting her first great niece and thought....get it out of the bag and get it finished.
A little crochet flower embellishment and a cover up......
Some more of those little birdies. I'd machine stitched these and they were just waiting to be stuffed and finished.
I have a few more cut out ready to go but not just yet, other things to do.
 More close ups.
UU's - my phrase of Usey Uppys. I'd come across this pattern by Danger Crafts a while ago, printed it off and kept it with my little oddments of yarn that need using up - as you do. So quick and easy to knit up - less than an hour from start to completion. My little labrador ornament is about 6 inches high to give you an idea
But then he wanted a friend - probably a girl
And one thing led to another
And another. So to stop anymore nonsence they are being shipped to the grandees in Scotland where they can be separated. Little Easter Chicks.
I'm not very good at linking but if you're interested the pattern is from www.rebeccadanger.typepad.com or www.dangercrafts.etsy.com
Finally, WIPs - Works in Progress. Just a little tempting morsel of what's currently on the go.
The stripey yarn to the left is a cardi for eldest Scottish grand-daugher, the circular crochet is the beginning of a base for a bag, the stripey yarn to the left will be another cardi using the same pattern but for my friend's grand-daughter and the black material etc is ready for Little Lady's evening bag for the disco.
Watch this space, x
