My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

No More Messy Handbags


Evening Bloggers, I hope you are all keeping warm as our tempertures plummet. This evening I want to share with you an idea I've been wanting to try for a while. I've seen several variations of these handbag tidies/inserts and this is my basic prototype, which I must say is working really well.
As you can see from the top picture the tidy comprises of several stitched pockets into which you can fit your bits and pieces, see below.

Then all you need to do is simply roll it up.


And pop it into your bag. If like me you usually carry a large handbag you will find that everything is always at the bottom when you are looking for it. This way everything stays in its place and when you want to swap bags you simply lift out the tidy and pop it into your next bag.
I'm working on some more colour variations now, and also looking at some fastening ideas. I'll  share these with you as soon as I can.

    Hi CB - Fab idea. I am just about to make a few bags and was thinking of putting zippy pockets inside. Your little pockety things looks really useful! x Jo
