About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Another Finished Item

You may remember a post from 25th March featuring this picture on WIP's. Well the crochet circle in the middle has finally been finished. In fact, I finished crocheting about a month ago but then decided I wanted to line it so needed to wait until I found a suitable fabric.....voila!
It's one of Lucy (Attic24) crochet bags, although in different colours from Lucy's usual style. I loved how quick it was to crochet up, being a novice. The flower embellishments were pretty simple too although after making some leaves I wasn't happy with the effect so opted to just use them on two of the handle ends.
This is it after I've added the lining. I can't believe I actually managed this without mucking it up. Chuffed to little mint balls with it.
Originally I was going to keep it for myself but once it all came together it shouted  birthday present to me....so in August it will be going to my eldest Step-Daughter who appreciates anything handmade. I will of course fill it with some crafting goodies for her too.
I may just have to make another one.....

  1. Nice bag! We like quick projects! It is a lovely present. I just crocheted a bag for my oldest friend, she also appreciate the handmade. And I can crochet some more! Have a nice week-end! Anna x

  2. Fab, love it - now when can you teach me to crochet? It is so long since I did any I have forgotten so I think I will be ok with a quick lesson or two.
    Hugs, Neet xx
