About Me

My photo
My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.

Lucky Bird

If you like a progressive challenge then designed2delight is the place to go. This is my first time participating but if you enter the first challenge of the month with the freebie on offer then you get the chance to accumulate more free digi images.

So I've coloured Lucky Bird in yellows to signify the start of Spring. I think he's cute in his wellies just waiting on those Spring showers. I've used copics Y000, 02, 06, YR04, 07, YG03, 06, W1, 3, 5. Some of the DP is by DCWV and the remainder is from my stash.

I hope you like my interpretation of the current Create4Fun sketch and the challenge links are below, x

Mind the Stumps...

Hi again. Back from painting my Son's room. Just the wardrobe to pick up and build tomorrow...groan!

Anyhow, this is another card I threw together quickly last night. I got late notification of a birthday this weekend and I know that he is a cricket fan. What a better way to dust off Cricketer Ted by Funstamps. I've had him for ages and he doesn't get out much, lol. I stamped him in Adirondack mushroom and used copics E93, 40, 41, 43, G21 and W1

The sky and grass CS are from the Kanban Factory Shop, something else that hasn't seen daylight for a while but just perfect for this card. The sunshine has been stamped with a Craft Stamper freebie and the little 'speckles' are a clear stamp, sorry not sure who by. I used Adirondack sunshine yellow. The little birdies flying high are also a clear stamp, make unknown.

Hopefully this card should get you all in the mood for Spring, which is just around the corner.

Entering this one in a few challenges as detailed below. Hope you like it, x

Vintage Beauty

Evening Peeps. I don't about you but it's turned blooming freezing here in West Yorkshire, hope it doesn't mean that there's more snow on the way.

Anyhow, it's a good excuse to stay in the warm crafting and this is the little creation I've made this afternoon.

I've stamped the 'vintage' lady in Versafine vintage sepia onto cream CS. I'm sorry but the image was a gift and I'm not sure who makes it. I have a few like this and they are all beautiful images. I've used my nesties to frame her.

The main DP is from my stash but I've run it through the Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirl' embossing plate before mounting it onto my CS.

The vellum (from my stash) has gold script on it. The plaid ribbon is by 'Portafolia' and the cream ribbon is from my stash.

Pearls from The Hobby House and the curly gardenia from Crafty Emma's Store (see my sidebar).

I hope you like it and I'm entering it into the following challenges :-

A heart can be for Christmas, not just for Valentines Day

Okay, so I know its a Christmas card and its only February but I'm trying to keep up with my Christmas challenges and be ahead of the game by the time December arrives....

I've just bought (in a sale) a set of Papermania clear stamps in the Henbury Lane range and realised I had the matching DP at home. How clever was that then!!!

The sentiment by Simple Expressions reads 'Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful'. Isn't that a lovely verse.

I've used my new L-Em punch to punch out the leaves.

The heart I've coloured with my copics. Phew, what a job that was trying to get the colour just how I wanted it. After a lot of colouring and blending and huffing and puffing I finally achieved my colour by using E27, R37, RV29 and a lot of blender pen. The leaves are coloured with YG63, 67.

I hope you like it and I'm entering it into the following challenges, x

Moments Like This...

Told you I'd be back...just made it before bedtime, lol

I've spent this evening playing about with this fold, can't remember where I've seen it recently but wanted to give it a try. Basically I used a sheet of brown A4 cardstock and trimmed it widthways to 5 3/4". I then scored at 1" and 2" creating a mountain and valley fold respectively. The remainder of the card I then folded in half (another mountain fold).

Using my MS punch to create the ironwork border it looks like Tilda is sat in front of it, having perched her on the first mountain fold. (hope this is making sense to you, lol). All the DP are from my stash. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The brad and dragonfly eyelet are also from my stash.

I've coloured Tilda with copics as follows :-
skin - E21, 93 and Promarker Satin
hair - E31, 33, 35
suit - B93, 95, 97
socks - YR12, 15
shoes - E33, 35
beads - BG09

Hopefully this second picture will enable you to understand my instructions. Hope you like it, x

I'm entering it into the following challenges:-

Just Magnolia #89 - My favourite things (copics, flowers and pearls/gems)
Allsorts #89 - Teal Blue and Brown
Pile It On #3 - Anything Goes
