Hello everyone and another beautiful day of sunshine.
I had intended to do something completely different for this challenge but my poor little dog - see my blog photo - got attacked by another dog this morning and its put me all behind. So although I'm really pleased with how this turned out it wasn't initially intended for this challenge.
On our Katys Corner Yahoo Group we were challenged, as part of a fun swap, to alter a piece of absorbent lint type material. It really was a free for all providing that there was some stamping involved.
The material proved quite difficult to colour but eventually I soaked it with alcohol blending solution and then plopped (technical term) drops of mushroom, denim and stream. They still didn't blend sufficiently so I rolled the fabric up and squeezed it and then unravelled it. I then had to wait for it to dry or rather evaporate before tearing the edges and stamping the freebie clear sun stamp from last month's Craft Stamper. I finished it off with buttons and the letter 'S'.
The final item is a photo brag book but as I didn't plan on entering it for a challenge I didn't take any more photos....duh!
I hope you like it and the challenge link is below.
Off to collect doggy from the vets now and I'll update you on that later, x

About Me
- cockney blonde
- My name's Alison but for reasons too long to go into I'm known as Cockney Blonde or CB for short. I've been rubber stamping for several years but now spend most of my time either knitting or crocheting. However, with the advent of a New Year I have bitten the bullet and am tackling my usually hated pastime of sewing. I've even bought 'Sewing for Dummies' to guide me on my way. I've been with my hubby Dave for 24 years and between us we have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. We also have 2 cats and a dog, the latter features as my 'photo' image. I used to be able to blog daily but these days I struggle to blog weekly. Hopefully now we are settled into our new home in the country, I can get back to a daily (well almost) update from the room I now have to share with hubby. No more personal crafting space for me!!! Thanks to all the blogs and sites I follow for all your brilliant inspiration, and thank you to everyone who finds the time to comment on my blog.
Sorry to hear about your dog Alison - hope he's better soon
ReplyDeleteLove your piece and what a fab way to add the colour to a difficult material
Thanks for sharing it with us on the Lotstodo Challenge xx Hilda
Your poor dog, you will keep us posted as to how the little mite is. Shame on that bully of a dog.
ReplyDeleteOh well, my piece of lint/felt thingy is still in the packet that it arrived in. Waiting for inspiration to come knocking - might be in for a long wait. Great to see what you came up with and I have to say, I am impressed. Lynne M x
Nice to see someone using one of the freebie stamps - like what you have done CB (and on THAT lint). Hope your dog is ok - thinking 'poor you' when it happened.
ReplyDeleteI hope your little dog has got over his nasty experience and is now on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with your piece of felt, I sat looking at my piece for ages wondering why I'd joined the swap lol.
xxx Hazel.
